Pulled meat was originally a method of cooking pork, where what would otherwise be a tough cut of meat is cooked slowly at low temperatures, allowing the meat to become tender enough so that it can be literally “pulled”, or easily broken into individual pieces from the bone. The meat has the appearance of shredded meat and is very tender and tasty. As things go the ‘pulled meat’ aspect has become so successful that the method is being applied to beef and chicken as well.
